In the morning I decided to leave my group and speed up the second half of the circuit considerably in order to visit also the Annapurna Base Camp (ABC) within the remaining 6-7 days. I tried to get a Jeep ride from Muktinath, but had to walk as far as Jomsom before I succeeded. The two-hour ride to Lete, which costs only Rs 500, advanced me by about 25km. Continuing from there on foot, I managed to get as far as Tatopani by 7 PM. On this day, I walked a total distance of about 42km, descending about 2000m. Due to the sudden extraordinary strain, by feet developed blisters and slight abrasions. Therefore, on the following days I was not able to walk more than the usual daily legs, such that I was not able to reach the ABC within the time given.
